Friday, May 31st & Saturday, June 1st from 10AM-5PM and Sunday, June 2nd from 10AM-2PM
The First Congregational Church, located at 58 North Main Street in Canandaigua, is
proud to present WOMEN ARTISTS OF THE FINGER LAKES III: A CONTEMPORAY
SHOW AND SALE, being held from May 31-June 2. This fifth annual art show is an
example of our congregation's commitment to caring for Canandaigua and the larger
Finger Lakes community. Our church continues to support music in the community by
hosting many concerts throughout the year and has now added the art show to its
offerings. Nearly fifty women artists, who work or reside in the Finger Lakes, will be
participating in this juried show. Over one hundred works, not seen at last year's show,
will be selected. Jurors are Aimee Ward, Dick Kane and Kim Baylor.
It is in keeping with the history of this area that we feature women artists as women have

B. Anthony and the Women's Hall of Fame participants, to name a few. We want to
honor those female artists who are preserving our beautiful surroundings through their
We are pleased to offer an appropriate balance of water colors, oils, sculptures,
photographs, pastels, acrylic, enamel painting, pen and ink, and charcoal drawings. A
"Best of Show" award will be given, as well as ribbons and certificates of merit.
Admission for the show is $5.00 and all proceeds will be used to benefit the preservation
of this historic building which has been recorded in the Library of Congress for the
church's historic and architectural interest. We are celebrating the 200th anniversary of
the building of the sanctuary, and 200 years of continuous religious and community
service by the church. People attending the show will have an opportunity to tour the
sanctuary of this beautiful building, built in 1812.
The hours for the show are: Friday and Saturday 10:00AM - 5:00PM and Sunday
